Purity 254

Purity 254 11/02/2020

 Good morning,

Today’s photo comes from a friend’ recent cross country trek from Boise to Las Vegas with his wife and small children, showing us all that you can drag the kids along for the ride when you decide to get out there!
I share it today because this sunset over the mountains represents our dwindling daylight and I am here to encourage anyone who suffers from seasonal affective disorder, depression, or is contemplating holiday blues, that no matter how much sun we get, there is hope in the light of the world: Jesus Christ.
I know, I know... here He goes again.
But seriously, before Christ I suffered from continual depression because I had decided there was no God and thus decided that life was meaningless. I was wrong. That’s a lie.
Even though God revealed the truth to me, I still have to remind myself of the truth and be careful not to let those negative or depressive thoughts have reign over my life.
Life group is an informal gathering of members of my church with lunch, a few worship songs, and a discussion about God. But Sometimes life group gets real!
Yesterday during the discussion, some of the members shared their testimonies of sexual abuse, forgiveness, and battles with depression. It was a very transparent lunch and in spite of the pain of the past traumas these people went through, they were able to confess how they were able to get through them by having God and other supportive Christians in their life.
God defines the meaning to our lives. He loves us and that love can mean the difference between remaining cloaked in the darkness of depression and experiencing peace and joy regardless of the past or current circumstances.
So seek Him, commit to Christ, and follow where He leads you everyday.
As someone who knows about depression first hand, I highly recommend Neil Anderson's Steps to Freedom in Christ to resolve personal conflicts here is a link to download a copy for free!
If you have trouble doing them alone. Contact me and we can set up an “freedom appointment” to get ‘er done and set you free!
God bless you all!
