Good
morning,
Today’s photo of a cable
pathway that runs between Mill Dam Road and Jones Lane near the shores of
Warner Lake comes to us from yours truly as I was loaned out to work with the
Linemen who were lashing fiber cable along the highways and backyard bi-ways in
Berne NY yesterday. I love how I
captured the sun that seems to be perfectly positioned over the utility pole
making it look like a candle that is shining for glory of God and how I also
captured my lineman co-worker halfway up the pole on “hooks” causing me to think of Jacob’s dream of a
ladder where he saw angels ascending and descending between heaven and earth.
Well it’s Thursday again, and I share this
nontraditional photo of a “cable pathway” through an area where there were no clear cut
paths, and a representation of man’s efforts at trying to ascend to heaven, as
an encouragement to all my friends to step on to the narrow pathway of
Christian Discipleship.
I am also thrilled to be announcing that I
started the mt4christ247 podcast just over a year ago on February 1st,
and as I slept last night, the podcast has exceeded the milestone of 5,000
downloads!
In September of 2015, after having victory over my substance abuse issues for 6 months and after teaching in our recovery ministry, Celebrate Freedom for 3 months, I decided to start mt4christ.org with the following statements of purpose:
1. To share the
gospel and my personal testimony, giving all the glory and praise to God for
what He has done and is continuing to do in my life.
2. To encourage
others to put their faith in Jesus Christ for their salvation, to surrender to
God's will for their lives, and to continually deepen their understanding and
personal relationship with Christ.
3, To document my journey as a Christian, to keep my focus on the Lord, and to determine His purpose for me.
Although I had many more personal and spiritual battles to face, and many trials and tribulations to walk through, I stand here today to say that I have taken the road that is truly less traveled, the path of Christian Discipleship, the journey of walking in the Spirit, and it has made all the difference, as my life is a continual well spring of hope, peace, and joy as I answered the Lord’s call on my life to seek Him and follow His will and purpose for my life.
The long and winding journey has led to the mt4Christ247 podcast and my current ministry with Freedom in Christ ministries where I will serve as a Community Freedom Ministry Associate and the facilitator for a Men’s Freedom in Christ Course tonight via Zoom and I am overjoyed and humbled by where the Lord has led me and by all the things I have experienced in my faith walk since making Jesus my Lord and Savior in 2010.
The eternal and new life that God gives us when we put our faith in Jesus is a spiritual and experiential reality and the only thing that prevents Christians from experiencing the abundant life that is defined by the fruit of the Spirit manifesting in our lives is our doubt, our unbelief, and our failure to know who we are in Christ and to trust the Lord to forsake the world and its ways and to press on toward the upward call of Christ.
Philippians 3:14 (NKJV) says
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of
God in Christ Jesus.
The call is the prize!!! The process is the victory! The walk is its own reward!
Every day that you make the daily decision to connect with your heavenly Father through a daily spiritual practice and to seek His will and purpose for your life is a good day. No matter what circumstances you face, when you abide in the Lord and His ways you can have a measure of peace because if there is nothing else, you are alive and in fellowship with God through Christ.
When you place your faith in Christ and decide to walk in the Spirit, you discover the narrow path that leads to life.
So be a vocal witness to the goodness of God and know that you can be transformed into the person that you always wanted to be but that you never thought you could. But be assured that impossible feat is only possible with God.
So keep walking and
talking with Him. On this journey of faith, we don’t always know where we are
going but if you go where the Lord leads, we can be sure that our final destination
will be a good one and their will be some amazing sights to see and victories
to experience on our way there! God
bless you all.
Today’s Bible verse comes to us from “The NLT Bible Promise Book
for Men”.
This morning’s meditation verse is:
2
Corinthians 5:7 (NLT2)
7 For we live by believing
and not by seeing.
Today’s short verse speaks volumes about how we are supposed to live as Christian disciples. It is such a key to our life as Christians that it needs to be meditated upon, absorbed, and acted out. If we do this, break throughs and paradigm shifts that have freedom and victory on the other side of our current state await us.
In John 11:26, Jesus asks Martha, and all of us: “Do you believe this?”
Do you? In that portion of scripture, Martha said she believed, and Lazarus was raised from the dead, confirming that Jesus is God. He brought life where there was only death.
Martha had to believe it to see it. And I am sure she was probably confused, and I know she was hurting, but I also think that she sincerely believed that Jesus was speaking the truth and that simple act of faith was rewarded with the return of her departed brother, for her joy and God’s glory.
So our walk is defined by our need to believe and to accept what the Lord has for us. It’s not based on our expectations, our ideas, or our deepest desires, because we don’t always get things right. We don’t name it and claim it.
We are to believe Jesus and to accept His invitation to “Come and See”.
In that portion of scripture, John 1:35-51, two disciples, John, and Andrew, heard John the Baptist declare Jesus to be the “Lamb of God” and they believed and asked where Jesus was staying. He gave the invitation to “come and see” and thus they began to follow, and more joined their number as they came to believe that Jesus was the Messiah. After they believed, Jesus said to them:
John 1:51
(NKJV)
51 … "Most
assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of
God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man."
So we must believe that Christ is Lord. We must follow His call to be sanctified and to be conformed to His image. And when we believe and act on our belief, because of our faith in Him, we will see the glory of God work in our lives and He will show us the things we always wanted to know and experience.
So believe in the Lord Jesus and seek to know Him through God’s word, through prayer, and through acting on your belief that the Lord’s wisdom and ways are the way in which you should live.
When you believe Him, you will see Him in your mind, in heart, and in your life. If you will believe in Him, you will see Him everywhere and you will truly understand what eternal life is and how it began the moment you first believed in Him.
As always, I invite all to go to mt4christ.org where I always share insights from prominent Christian theologians and counselors to assist my brothers and sisters in Christ with their walk.
Today we continue to share from Dr. Neil Anderson’s . “Restored: Experience Life with Jesus”. Today, we continue sharing from Chapter 8.
As always, I share this information for educational purposes and encourage all to purchase Dr. Neil Anderson’s books for your own private study and to support his work.
GOING THROUGH STEP SEVEN
Ask the Lord to reveal your ancestral sins and then renounce
them as follows:
Dear Heavenly Father, please reveal to my mind all the sins
of my ancestors that have been passed down through family lines. Since I am a
new creation in Christ, I want to experience my freedom from those influences
and walk in my new identity as a child of God. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Lord, I renounce (Confess all the family sins that God
brings to your mind). Amen.
Satan and people may curse us, but it will not have any effect
on us unless we believe it. We cannot passively take our place in Christ; we
must actively and intentionally choose to submit to God and resist the devil.
Then he will flee from us. Complete this final step with the following
declaration and prayer:
DECLARATION
I here and now reject and disown all the sins of my
ancestors. As one who has been delivered from the domain of darkness and
transferred into the kingdom of God’s Son, I declare myself to be free from
those harmful influences. I am no longer “in Adam.” I am now alive “in Christ.”
Therefore I am the recipient of the blessings of God upon my life as I choose
to love and obey Him. As one who has been crucified and raised with Christ and
who sits with Him in heavenly places, I renounce any and all satanic attacks
and assignments directed against me and my ministry. Every curse placed on me
was broken when Christ became a curse for me by dying on the cross (Galatians
3:13). I reject any and every way in which Satan may claim ownership of me. I
belong to the Lord Jesus Christ who purchased me with His own precious blood. I
declare myself to be fully and eternally signed over and committed to the Lord
Jesus Christ. Therefore, having submitted to God and by His authority, I now
resist the devil, and I command every spiritual enemy of the Lord Jesus Christ
to leave my presence. I put on the armor of God, and I stand against Satan’s
temptations, accusations, and deceptions. From this day forward I will seek to
do only the will of my Heavenly Father.
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to You as Your child, bought out of slavery to sin by
the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. You are the Lord of the universe and the
Lord of my Life. I submit my body to You as a living and holy sacrifice. May
You be glorified through my life and body. I now ask You to fill me with Your
Holy Spirit. I commit myself to the renewing of my mind in order that I may
prove that Your will is good, acceptable, and perfect for me. I desire nothing
more than to be like You. I pray, believe, and do all this in the wonderful
name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
