86 the X – Renounce that Man Right out of Your Hair! – Purity 614

86 the X – Renounce that Man Right out of Your Hair! – Purity 614

Purity 614 12/29/2021 Purity 614 Podcast

Good morning,

Today’s photo a palm tree in front of the beaches at what we suspect to be either Sint Maarten or Saint Barthelemy comes to us from a friend’s vacation back in June as I decided to look back six months from today in my phone’s photo archive to see what photos we “borrowed” but never shared.   We are sharing two more beach scenes that are from Saint Barthelemy, for sure,  on the blog today at mt4christ.org if you need some more views of white sands and turquoise waters under blue skies.

It's Wednesday and it is officially the last Hump Day of 2021, and we are sharing these photos today for 2 purposes.   The first is to highlight some of God’s creation and to marvel over its beauty and to thank Him for providing us with diverse environments to enjoy on the earth.  The second reason I am sharing these photos is to get them off of my phone!

Yesterday we encouraged our listeners or readers to take care of unfinished business or to leave things that we don’t want to carry with us anymore behind as we soon will begin a new year.  It’s best to travel light through life in general and there may be no better time to clean up our acts or get rid of some unwanted aspects of our lives than at the year’s end.

I don’t know about you but in my hectic schedule of life and rolling with the changing circumstances that come into my “normal routine”, ha ha, I don’t always organize things the way I should.

As neat as my phone may appear on the outside, now that my fiancĂ© recently took it out of its case and cleaned it – you might need to do that too – the inside of it is jammed packed with photos that I have snapped, or borrowed, and emails that I hadn’t gotten around to reading or deleting.  So yesterday I spent my lunch hour just deleting old emails from the past year and I didn’t even finish!

So I encourage you to look at your phone and your life in general and consider what’s been lying around that you can 86, or throw out.

Apparently the term “86” means to “throw out” as old rotary phones had  a “T” on the 8 key and an “O” on the 6 key, so to throw out (“T” – “O”) something was to 86 it.

Or it may have originally been a bartender's term – as in “86 this bum – He’s drunk and unruly!”

Also The United States also has a Uniform Code of Military Justice that has an article 86: Absence Without Leave, a.k.a AWOL.  As in where’s Private Jones? He’s 86. He didn’t report back to duty.   (https://www.stlmag.com/dining/Ask-George-Where-Does-the-Term-86d-Come-From/#:~:text=The%20United%20States%20also%20has,originally%20been%20a%20bartender's%20term.)

So as we get closer to New Year’s Day, travel lighter in 2022 by “86”ing some stuff you don’t need in your life anymore.

Pain, regret, emotions, longings, and grief that come from broken relationships may be something that we would like to “86” but for some reason we just can’t seem to let that person or the negative feelings we have from dealing with that person go.

The world would tell you to “forget that bum”, “get someone else” or possibly to do something selfish – like “go shopping” or “take a vacation” as remedies to the pain and “stuckness” of broken relationships but these methods will have varying degrees of success and do not address the spiritual realities of relationship dynamics that just might hold the key to setting you free.

Based on my experience, and education in Christian Counseling, I would say there are three things, that you have to do to effectively “86” an X.

1.    Say Goodbye – Whether in person, over the phone, via text, email, or – quite possibly the best option for broken relationships – alone by yourself – verbally saying goodbye to a lost loved one is a necessary part of the grieving process that can help cut the ties that bind and provide closure.  Saying Goodbye – as a prayer, out loud – brings your pain before God and allows Him to give you healing.  Speaking Goodbye also sets your intentions for the future and tells yourself that “It’s over!”

2.    Forgive from the Heart – Read the following prayers and welcome God into your experience to allow you to help you to forgive those who have hurt you so you can move on without the bitterness and pain that defines a life consumed with unforgiveness.

“Say, “Lord, I choose to forgive these people and what they did to me.” For every painful memory that God reveals in connection with the people you need to forgive to move on  pray,

Dear heavenly Father, I choose to forgive [name the person] for [what they did or failed to do], because it made me feel [share the painful feelings—i.e., rejected, dirty, worthless, inferior, etc.].

After you have forgiven every person for every painful memory, then pray as follows:

Lord Jesus, I choose not to hold on to my resentment. I relinquish my right to seek revenge and ask You to heal my damaged emotions. Thank You for setting me free from the bondage of my bitterness. I now ask You to bless those who have hurt me. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.

Anderson, N. T. (2019). The bondage breaker® (p. 231). Eugene, OR: Harvest House Publishers.

3.    Renounce Sexual Past Involvements to Break Soul Ties – The word of God describes those who have sex together as becoming “one flesh”, it’s a spiritual reality that modern psychology doesn’t acknowledge.

Why can’t we get past old “what’s his name” or “what’s her name” from yesteryear?  Because we are still “bonded” to them because of our sexual and emotional involvements.  To break those invisible ties that keep us bound and to find freedom from sexual bondage, pray the following prayer:

Dear heavenly Father, I have allowed sin to reign in my mortal body. I ask You to bring to my mind every sexual use of my body as an instrument of unrighteousness so that I can renounce these sexual sins and break these sinful bondages. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.

As the Lord brings to your mind every sexually immoral use of your body, whether it was done to you (rape, incest, sexual molestation) or you initiated it (pornography, masturbation, sexual immorality), renounce these using the prayer that follows:

Dear heavenly Father, I renounce [name the sexual experience] with [name]. I ask You to break that sinful bond with [name] spiritually, physically, and emotionally. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.

After you have finished, commit your body to God by praying:

Dear heavenly Father, I renounce all the uses of my body as an instrument of unrighteousness, and I admit to any willful participation. I choose to present my physical body to You as an instrument of righteousness, a living and holy sacrifice acceptable to You. I choose to reserve the sexual use of my body for marriage only. I reject the devil’s lie that my body is not clean or that it is dirty or in any way unacceptable to You as a result of my past sexual experiences. Lord, thank You that You have cleansed and forgiven me and that You love and accept me just the way I am. Therefore, I choose now to accept myself and my body as clean in Your eyes. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.

Anderson, N. T. (2019). The bondage breaker® (pp. 241–242). Eugene, OR: Harvest House Publishers.

God is the Healer in all things and faith in Jesus Chris gives us eternal life and sets us free.  So when we want to “86” negative emotions and the bad relationships in our lives, we need to bring our pain to God and allow Him to take it away and renounce our sins so we can move on in freedom.

Hey, it’s about to be a new year, why not “wash that man” , or woman” “right out of your hair”,  and out of your heart, mind, and soul by taking it to God and allowing Him to heal you and to break those ties that bind forever.

Freedom is available through our faith in Christ.  The question is: ”do you want it?”

If you want it, you can have it by going to your heavenly Father and asking Him to help you to say goodbye, to forgive, and to break the ties that have kept you bound and hurting.

So 86 the X, 86 the bondage, and 86 the pain. God wants to heal you and free you. Go to Him and experience the freedom that He so desperately wants you to know and walk in.

Today’s Bible verse comes to us from “The NLT Bible Promise Book for Men”.

This morning’s meditation verse is:

Ephesians 1:23 (NLT2)
23  And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.

Today’s verse teaches us that the church is Jesus Christ’s body and that we are made complete in Christ.

A line from the Oscar Winning film – Jerry Maguire – expresses how the characters felt that their romantic interest made them fulfilled: with the pair of lovers confessing at critical moments in the narrative that: “You complete me.”

As nice as that sentiment is and as true as it may feel for some couples, the word of God indicates that we are made full and complete by Christ alone.

My life of searching for meaning and purpose led me to the conclusion that the Bible is the inspired word of God and that everything it says is true.  While we may struggle with how it’s true at times, we benefit greatly by seeking God to discover how the word of God is true and by applying its lessons to our lives.

The church, Jesus’ disciples, are said to be “His body”  - meaning we are God’s hands and feet and are created to walk into the good works that God has created beforehand for each of us to seek out and to walk into.

As Christians, we are all ministers of reconciliation as we can tell everyone how Christ saved us and how He has filled our lives and made us complete.

And the beauty of being in a covenant relationship with God through faith in His beloved Son, Jesus Christ,  is that we can be progressively by “filled with Christ” and become “more complete” by becoming more and more like Jesus in our character, thoughts, and actions as the word of God describes Christianity as a lifestyle of progressive sanctification that goes from “faith to faith” and “glory to glory”.

So even though Christ has made us “complete” when we place our faith in Him and we were given his righteousness, the forgiveness of sins, and eternal life, our faith journey isn’t “complete” yet as we will all be glorified in God’s presence one day.

So stop looking at the things of the world to “complete” you. If you have put your faith in Jesus, you are complete!

However, since we are going to live forever, we still have a mission: to find our purpose in God’s kingdom and to walk into the good works that He has for us to do.

So rejoice at your completeness in Christ and keep walking and talking with God to see what else He has in store for you.

THE DEFEAT OF SATAN

There is a third reason that Jesus came. He came to undo the works of Satan.29 Because Adam and Eve sinned, they forfeited their dominion over this earth, and Satan became the rebel holder of authority. Jesus referred to him as the ruler of this world30 but promised that he would be cast out.31 The Apostle John wrote that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one32 because he deceives the whole world.33 But Jesus disarmed Satan34 when He defeated sin and death at the cross by His own death and resurrection.

Knowing that Satan and his demons are defeated is just as much a part of the gospel as the fact that your sins are forgiven and that you have new life in Christ. People all over the world are terrorized by Satan and his demons. Satan is the father of lies,35 and people are in bondage to those lies. The false religions of this world try to appease him and manipulate the spiritual world through their Satanic worship and the incantations of their shamans. Satan wants to be feared because he wants to be worshiped above God. But only God is worthy of worship because He alone is omnipotent (all powerful), omnipresent (everywhere present), and omniscient (all knowing), and every true believer is seated with Christ in the heavenlies,36 which is the spiritual realm.

All authority has been given to Jesus in heaven and upon this earth,37 and on that basis we are commissioned to go into this world and make disciples38 and teach them to believe all that He said. That means that Satan has no authority over any of God’s children. Because of our union with God, we have the authority and the power to do God’s will. Power is the ability to rule, and authority is the right to rule. In Christ we have both. That is why the Apostle Paul wrote, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.”39 As children of God, we live by faith in God, in His strength and by His authority. If we try to do His will in our own strength and by our own authority, we will fail miserably. We have no spiritual authority to do our own will independent of our Heavenly Father, but we have the authority to do God’s will, and this authority is over the kingdom of darkness, which includes Satan and all his demons.

A CALL TO REPENTANCE

Paul’s instruction to the church included more than belief in God. He also taught “that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds appropriate to repentance.”40 The Apostle Peter said to the early church, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself. 41 Circumcision was a sign of the Old Testament Covenant of Law, and baptism is a sign of the New Testament Covenant of Grace, which identifies the believer with the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

We are saved by the grace of God through faith in the finished work of Christ, but if we want to experience our new life and freedom in Christ and grow by the grace of God, we must repent of our sins. The rest of this book will lead you through a repentance process. If you are completely honest with God during the process, you will sense His presence in your life when you are finished: “And the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”42

You are also admonished to seek baptism in your local church and publicly declare your faith in Jesus. “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”43

Walking out of the Woods – Leaving Things Behind and Seeking Him – Purity 613

Purity 613 12/28/2021  Purity 613 Podcast

Good morning,

Today’s photo of the of white clouds and blue skies over weather stripped ice coated trees on the edge of Waite Road in Easton NY comes to us from yours truly and my afternoon stroll from this past Sunday.  Let’s face it the weather in upstate New York hasn’t given us too many blue skies as of late, heck they didn’t even last for the duration of that day, so I may be sharing more views from Sunday’s walk in the days ahead.

Well it’s Tuesday, and I am sharing today’s photo because of its simple beauty and to represent that “we aren’t out of the woods yet” in so many ways.

Spiritually, as Christians, even though we just finished celebrating Jesus’ coming as a babe in a manger on Saturday, we are still awaiting His second coming where he will come to rule and regain as King.

In terms of the days on the calendar, we are quickly moving out of December and 2021, but we still have a few days until we get there and still have time to possibly get some business finished and resolve some things before the new year.

In terms of the season, we may be past the winter solstice and the darkest day of the year and will experience increasing light that will peak at the spring equinox on March 20, 2022, but we still have to walk through a few months of winter to get there.

And as the news will tell you, although many measures have been instituted to try to control “Covid-19”, and now all of its derivatives, we are apparently still not out of the woods yet of the pandemic according to the media.  Yesterday’s post spoke of my concerns of whether or not people’s fear of death would ever allow us to be “out of the woods” of Covid-19 protective measures and tried to encourage that we seek the Lord and speak of the protection and eternal life that comes through faith in Christ to a world that desperately needs it but that may claim to know better.

In truth, our lives are continuous, and we will always be in the process of leaving or entering wilderness periods in our lives as we face the changing situations that come with the passing of days.

As we are bearers of the message of God’s light and truth that has been revealed to us in the person of Jesus Christ, sometimes it is extremely challenging to continue walking out our faith and speaking the truth of hope that only comes through Jesus.

Christians are villainized as ignorant, unloving, intolerant, unscientific, hateful, backwards, and legalistic for the message of the exclusivity of Christ to save and for agreeing with what the word of God defines as sin.

As much as we would like to please others and just to “get along” with everyone, Christ’s example shows us that we are to stand for the Truth of God’s word and not compromise our convictions.

The bad news is that, even though we have been forgiven and made spiritually alive because our faith in Jesus Christ, we can still make mistakes and falter in the things we do and the words we say.

However, the good news is that when we make mistakes we can take corrective action and seek to reestablish our harmony with God by asking for His forgiveness once again and choose to turn again to His truth and His ways for living.

This process of seeking to know God and to make Him known in the ways we think and act, and the many adjustments that we will make as we progress into the future, is what is referred to as ‘walking in the Spirit” or “being conformed to the image of Christ”.

It is not always clear sailing of the high seas of Christian Discipleship, and we often find ourselves in conflict with the world, the flesh, and the devil as we try to walk it out our Christian faith.

Jesus promised persecution to His followers. So we can expect to be bruised and battered on occasion as we go, but as Christ’s disciples we really don’t have a choice but to continue on and to speak the truth in love knowing that the world will hate us because it hated Jesus too.

So today I would just encourage us all to think about the final days of this year and if possible use the time that remains before the new year to resolve issues that we would like to leave behind in 2021 and seek to prepare ourselves for the hope of yet another “new beginning” in 2022.

We may be able to put somethings to rest. We may be able to get rid of somethings that weigh us down that we don’t want to carry anymore.  We may be able to take some steps into a direction that leads to increasing freedom and victory.

Although we can’t control the situations and people in our lives, we can control what we put our hearts, minds, and efforts to.  I would encourage you that the best plan for your life involves coming into agreement with what the word of God says and seeking the purpose that God has for your life.

Christ encouraged us to look past this world and seek His heavenly Father’s ways for living.

In Matthew 6:33 (NKJV), Christ told us to
33  … seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

“All these things” was referring to the things we need in life, and our seeking God’s kingdom and His righteousness would result in us receiving them.

In Matthew 7:7 (NKJV), Jesus again encouraged His disciples to:
7  "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Christ encourages us to actively seek and ask for what He has for our lives and, as this verse indicates, when we seek and ask for it, God will give it to us.

So look at the remaining days of 2021 and contemplate what needs to be left behind to draw closer to what Lord has for your life.  As a fellow disciple of Christ, I encourage you to know that what Christ said is true and that when you seek and ask for it you will receive all the things that God has for you.

So although we might not be out of the woods yet in many ways, keep walking and talking with God because His ways are the best ways, and He will guide you out of the wilderness and bring you to where you should be.

Today’s Bible verse comes to us from “The NLT Bible Promise Book for Men”.

This morning’s meditation verse is:

Ephesians 1:22 (NLT2)
22  God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church.

Today’s verse makes it clear that Jesus is in control, and it reminds us that is a good thing for the church.

Jesus proclaimed the truth of this verse in one of the concluding verses of Matthew’s gospel, when He said in:

Matthew 28:18 (NKJV)
18  … "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

This spiritual reality will become clear and will ultimately come to bear when Christ returns to reclaim and judge the earth but the truth of this reality exists here and now and can be experienced when we come into a covenant relationship with Jesus and share in His authority as Christians.

That’s why this verse in Ephesians speaks of the fact that Christ’s receiving authority over all things is for the benefit of the church.  It is for the benefit of the church because we can claim and utilize the authority that Christ has over all things.

While God may bless us by using Christ’s authority to answer our prayers to give us the desires of our hearts or to give us the gifts of the Spirit, the most profound way that the church can benefit from Christ’s authority over all things is in the area of personal sanctification.

Christ’s authority is used for God’s purposes, not our personal desires.  So while we might not be successful in claiming Christ’s authority over all situations and in influencing other people because of our lack discernment or wisdom, the word of God states that our sanctification is God’s will for our lives.

So we can claim the victory over sin and death that Christ’s authority has given us to conquer our fear of death and to align our thoughts and behavior to be more like Christ’s.

Exercising Christ’s authority over our lives is just a matter of knowing who we are in Christ, believing what the word of God says, and applying it to our lives in our thoughts and actions.

We most benefit as the church when we exercise Christ’s authority to be more like Him and to encourage others to join His kingdom and us as we seek to do His will for our lives.

So claim the authority that Christ has intended for our benefit and use it for good in our lives and for God’s purposes.

Today we continue to share from Dr. Neil Anderson’s . “Restored: Experience Life with Jesus”. Today, we continue sharing from Chapter 1.

SAVED BY THE GRACE OF GOD THROUGH FAITH

The only way we can enter into this new life is by putting our faith and trust totally in God and relying on the work of Christ alone to save us. “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.”21 If you have never received this free gift from God, why don’t you do so right now? God knows your heart, and you can respond to Him by praying:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus to die on the cross for my sins. I acknowledge that I have sinned and that I cannot save myself. I believe that Jesus came to give me eternal and spiritual life, and by faith I now choose to receive You into my life as my Lord and my Savior. By the power of Your indwelling presence, enable me to be the person You created me to be. I pray that You would grant me repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, so that I can experience my new identity and freedom in Christ and be transformed by the renewing of my mind. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.

The Apostle John wrote, “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”22 “See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are.”23 Jesus instructed His disciples to address our prayers to, “Our Father who is in heaven,”24 which also means that we are His children. Knowing who you are as a child of God is critical for your growth in Christ and in becoming the person God intends you to be. No person can consistently behave in a way that is inconsistent with what they believe about themselves. That is why the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.25 Our heavenly Father wants us to know that we are His children.

Yet Jesus came not only came to die for our sins and give us new life in Him, but also to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.26 He gave us life, and this life gives us our true identity as children of God. He meets our needs of acceptance, security, and significance as follows:

IN CHRIST

I am accepted:

John 1:12            I am God’s child.

John 15:15          I am Jesus’ chosen friend.

Rom 5:1               I have been made holy and accepted by God (justified).

1 Cor 6:17            I am united with the Lord and one with Him in spirit.

1 Cor 6:20            I have been bought with a price-- I belong to God.

1 Cor 12:27          I am a member of Christ’s body, part of His family.

Eph1:1                I am a saint, a holy one.

Eph 1:5               I have been adopted as God’s child.

Eph 2:18              I have direct access to God through the Holy Spirit.

Col1:14                I have been bought back (redeemed) and forgiven of all my sins.

Col 2:10               I am complete in Christ.

I am secure:

Rom 8:1, 2           I am free forever from punishment (condemnation).

Rom 8:28             I am assured that all things work together for my good.

Rom 8:31F           I am free from any condemning charges against me.

Rom 8:35F           I cannot be separated from the love of God.

2 Cor 1:21            I have been established, anointed, and sealed by God.

Col 3:3                 I am hidden with Christ in God.

Phil 1:6                I am sure the good work God has started in me will be finished.

Phil 3:20              I am a citizen of heaven.

2 Tim 1:7             I have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

Heb 4:16              I can find grace and mercy in time of need.

1 John 5:18         I am born of God and the evil one cannot touch me.

I am significant:

Matt 5:13             I am salt and light for everyone around me.

John 15:1-5         I am a part of the true vine, joined to Christ and able to produce much fruit.

John 15:16          I have been handpicked by Jesus to bear fruit.

Acts 1:8               I am a personal witness of Christ’s.

1 Cor 3:16            I am God’s temple where the Holy Spirit lives.

2 Cor 5:17            I am at peace with God, and He has given me the work of making peace between Himself and other people. I am a minister of reconciliation.

2 Cor 6:1             I am God’s co-worker.

Eph 2:6               I am seated with Christ in the heavenly places.

Eph 2:10              I am God’s workmanship.

Eph 3:12              I may approach God with freedom and confidence.

Phil 4:13              I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

All these statements are true because of our union with God. This new life in Christ, which is our union with God, is most often referred to in the Bible as being “in Christ” or “in Him.” For every verse in the Bible that talks about Christ being in God’s children, there are ten verses that talk about God’s children being “in Christ.” For instance, the six chapters of the book of Ephesians contain forty references to being “in Christ.” In total, there are 27 books in the New Testament. The first four are historical and are called the gospels, which describe the birth, life, death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. The fifth book of Acts is an historical book depicting the life of the early church and the work of the Apostles, who also wrote the rest of the New Testament under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. These Epistles provide instruction for the church, which is the living body of Christ. The entire Bible was written over a period of 1400 years by forty different authors who all wrote under the inspiration of God. The Bible is therefore the authoritative Word for life and practice of all God’s people. After Jesus was resurrected, He appeared to His disciples and hundreds of others who were still alive when the New Testament was being written.27 He was with them for around fifty days, and then went home to Heaven. He now sits at the right hand of God the Father, which is the spiritual throne and the seat of authority for the universe.

After Jesus was glorified in Heaven, the Holy Spirit was sent to all those who believe in the finished work of Jesus. The pouring out of the Holy Spirit came at the Jewish feast of Pentecost, which marks the beginning of the Church. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth28 and dwells in every believer the moment they are born again spiritually. The Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth, and that truth will set you free.

4001 Downloads for the mt4Christ247 Podcast!

 4,001 Downloads Announcement Podcast

Good evening! This is MT Clark of mt4christ.org and the mt4chrsit247 podcast.

I am humbled and pleased to announce that the mt4Christ247 podcast has reached 4,000 downloads!

I would like to thank all the people who have listened to the podcast and hope that others will find it and be encouraged to walk in the Spirit and continue to seek the Lord on the path of Christian Discipleship.

I would especially like to thank Arthur and Susanna Cincotti for their agreeing to take our weekly Bible Study Discussion and include it in the podcast.  Bible Study with the Cincotti’s is a huge contributor to that number and I am grateful for the Cincotti’s faithfulness and support.

I started the podcast to reach more people with the message of Freedom in Christ and the power of our faith to transform people’s lives.  I had no idea that this little podcast would ever have this many downloads or have such an impact on my life.

It has become a part of my daily spiritual practice 6 days a week and it has even led me to find a Christian woman to be my wife, as I will marry TammyLyn Seguin on January 1st! TammyLyn found my discipleship classes and me through the mt4christ247 podcast.

So I am very glad I started it to encourage other Christians to live out their faith every day.

When you seek the Lord and His will for your life you have no idea where He will lead you and what trials you may have to endure in your walk of faith, but can I tell you, the path that the Lord has for you is worth pursuing with all your heart, all your mind, and all your strength.

So seek the Lord! His ways are higher than our ways and when you walk in them they will ultimately be for your good when you love God and answer the call to live out His purposes.

The path of Christian Discipleship isn’t meant to be walked alone. So keep listening and I’ll keep sharing what I see and what the Lord is doing in my life and the lives of others around me.

I may not always have the best insights on Christian Theology or Christian Counseling but I will try to be faithful in encouraging you to keep walking and talking with God!

God bless you all!

Legislating Immortality – Fearful New World – Purity 612

Legislating Immortality – Fearful New World  – Purity 612

Purity 612 12/27/2021  Purity 612 Podcast

Good morning,

Today’s photo of the sun blazing through an ice covered forest comes to us from yours truly as I took a canine friend for a walk down Waite Road in Easton NY yesterday afternoon and had the presence of mind to bring my phone to capture some scenes along the way on what was a sunny and pleasant Boxing Day.

It's Monday again. So it’s back to life and back to reality for most of us as the Christmas holiday is over and it’s time to make the donuts again as we return to work today.  For many of us that will mean having to secure our face coverings as we will be subtly forced to comply with mask mandates that are designed to stop the spread of the flu and common cold… I mean the deadly viruses Covid-19, and its hosts of variants. I know there was a Delta variant that the news tried to terrify us with a few months ago and now we apparently on Omnicron.

Assuming Covid 19 was Alpha, I guess Beta, and Gamma must have been pretty lame and likewise Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Iota, Kappa, Mu, Nu and Xi  must have been relatively harmless as they didn’t make the news.  To be honest, I don’t watch the news so they could have.  I would apologize for my ignorance in regards to current events but there doesn’t seem to be a very large concern with the truth in general so I choose to not subscribe to a media stream that may knowingly or unknowingly be propagating a fraud or a false narrative.

The idea of mandatory vaccines that don’t prevent the disease they are designed to prevent and the wearing of masks that likewise will not prevent the spread of the same disease shows us that we are not content with the truth as we are with feeding the culture of fear as the objects of concern shift to a new supposed menace every few weeks to keep the measures of control in place and to keep a steady stream of income into the pockets of the pharmaceutical companies and the industries that profit on keeping the pandemic alive.

With the abandonment of Afghanistan the war on global terrorism was lost or is over, instead those in charge are declaring a war on disease as cold and flu season has begun and the response is to reinstitute mask mandates and to demand that a round of “vaccine booster” shots be given.

New Hampshire’s state motto is “live free or die” and I think I choose that option rather than to get a “booster” of a shot with questionable ingredients and limited effectiveness.  And as for the masks, unless you are in a Hazmat suit we are all vulnerable to  the spread of diseases.

So I will take every opportunity to gain permission to remove my mask, as the vast majority of us – either don’t believe the hype, feel secure with our own immunity systems, or know that there is a sovereign God who chooses when each one of us will be called into eternity in spite our personal efforts to stay alive at all costs.

The inconsistencies of our attitudes regarding society’s concerns over the sanctity of life and compassion highlight the madness of our age and the heights of hypocrisy that would have even the most carnal of sinners in a Christian house of prayer balk and point a retaliatory finger of accusation towards all the hypocrites outside of the church.

The lifestyles and attitudes that are perverse and contribute to the spread STD’s, the continuation of addiction, and encourage the termination of life in the womb as well as the elderly are “deemed” an expression of our liberty and are beyond reproach.  But the decision to refuse medical treatments and forced codes of dress, because that’s all it is, are villainized as ignorant, uncompassionate, and dangerous.

The powers that be have stirred the pot of fear and enough of the populace is scarred enough to agree with just about anything to avoid death, or chastisement.

I fear the opinion of God more men and I know my life is secured in Christ so I don’t fear death.  My assurance is as absolute as you can get. I know God has purposes for us that go beyond eternity and I know that God will be faithful to those who put their faith in His Son.

We don’t know when we are going to die but those who put their faith in Jesus don’t have to worry about a disease or some other sudden calamity that will usher us into eternity.  The grim reaper isn’t so grim for the Christian.  We have the assurance of everlasting life.

When Covid-19 dropped in 2020 and the uncertainty and fear was at its zenith, essential workers had to make the decision to stay at home with the masses or to just go on and live. In the early days, there was no PPE to be found and as we know, the vast majority of it is less than 100% effective, proving that the proliferation of a “hope so” faith, that something was better than nothing, would be the soup du jour for all of 2020. And that dish of “hope so faith” that was more superstition than science is still being served up and forced fed to us in 2021.  Essential workers were, and still are at risk and vast majority of them lived and still live.

But a new season for the flu is upon us and we now supposedly can track every new variant of disease and will demand that people keep their “hope so faith” alive, creating new fear evangelists that push a new “booster gospel” as the original vaccines weren’t the scientific messiah that we were hoping for.

Don’t get me wrong.  I don’t want anyone to get sick and die.  Life is precious and we should take measures to protect it and let it thrive by making good choices.

But regardless of boosters, your disinfectants, and your governmental pressures to comply, death will not be stopped.

Death is God’s means for taking people into eternity.  No one dies early according the God’s timetable.  Regardless of what the coroner puts down as the cause of death, the ultimate truth is that God reclaimed the life that he created and the only hope for our lives is to make peace with the God who made us.

We can’t prevent physical death. But we can experience a thriving life of peace, love, and joy will on earth and prevent spiritual death by putting our faith in Jesus Christ.

I would love to put laws in effect to make Christianity the state religion and have everyone pledge allegiance and their souls to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  But God doesn’t want forced love and obedience.  He invites us all to choose life and life everlasting through faith in Jesus Christ but that is an invitation that we all must individually choose to accept and reject.

You can’t legislate immortality. But I can “hope so” that more people will seek the Lord and find life everlasting in Jesus and have the assurance of a “know so” faith in the One sent to save us.

So as we go towards the end of this year, I encourage us to be compassionate with one another and obey the mandates, when necessary.

As much as our freedom is being restricted we still have the freedom to speak and instead of proliferating the “hope so” gospel of masks and vaccines, let’s remind people of the “know so” faith and assurance of life everlasting that comes through the gospel of Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God.

If we are living separated from God, we really should expect his protection.

The harsh lesson of life that the world teaches us is that we will all die one day and nothing will prevent that.

But God tells us of life beyond this world, and His word repeatedly tells us that He is sovereign and that we are to not fear.

So fight power of fear and take responsibility for the life you have.  Putting your trust in man and science is a “hope so” faith that offers nothing but a steady stream of fear and panic.

Putting your faith in Jesus Christ gives you the assurance of eternal life and the fruit of the Spirit of love, joy, peace, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, patience, and self-control .

So as you head out for work today put on the protection that will save you: faith in Jesus Christ. This world needs to know that God is real and cares about us. This world needs the hope of the light that outshines the darkness and the fear. This world needs Jesus and it needs someone to deliver the message of His truth.

So keep walking and talking with God. Walk in the Spirit of peace and love and assure those who are afraid that there is safety in Christ alone.

Today’s Bible verse comes to us from “The NLT Bible Promise Book for Men”.

This morning’s meditation verse is:

Jeremiah 31:35 (NLT2)
35  It is the LORD who provides the sun to light the day and the moon and stars to light the night, and who stirs the sea into roaring waves. His name is the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, and this is what he says:

Today’s verse is as provided by “The NLT Bible Promise Book for Men” as an answer for the contemplation for “When you wish you could see Jesus at work in the world today”.

The idea from the authors of The NLT Bible Promise Book for Men is that “Jesus’ work in the world today is evidenced by the continuous miracle of God’s creation.  God provides the sun to light the day and the moon and stars to light the night every day, and He also is the one who stirs the seas.

In my short stint as teacher in jail ministry, I developed a quick apologetic for the existence of God in which I presented the three evidence for God as:

1.    God’s creation – Existence itself points to the God who made all things.

2.    Our Consciences – God wrote His law upon our hearts – we all know when we have done wrong

3.    Transformed Lives – Some people who have made Jesus their Lord and Savior were one way before coming to Christ and afterwards were set free of the former lives that were defined by sin.  Their changed lives are evidence of His power and His reality.

So the evidence for God is all around us.  And the really great news about that is we as Christians are a part of that evidence and we get to present ourselves to the unbelieving world to prove that God is real and active in this world.

Yes, we can point to the rising sun each day as proof that God is at work in the world today but if we are growing in our relationship with God, we can also point to ourselves and reflect on the work that He has done and is continuing to do in us.

So open your eyes to see the goodness of God and Him actively working but also know that your contemplation of Him and the things of God are evidence that He is already working in you.

As always, I invite all to go to mt4christ.org where I always share insights from prominent Christian theologians and counselors to assist my brothers and sisters in Christ with their walk.

Today we continue to share from Dr. Neil Anderson’s . “Restored: Experience Life with Jesus”. Today, we begin sharing from Chapter 1.

As always, I share this information for educational purposes and encourage all to purchase Dr. Neil Anderson’s books for your own private study and to support his work.

CHAPTER ONE

REDEMPTION HISTORY

We have learned from history that most people haven’t learned much from history. Those who don’t learn are doomed to repeat the same failures over and over again. Those who have learned the truth from their forefathers know that history is His-story of unfolding grace and love for all humanity. In order to understand what His plan is for you, we need to start at the beginning of human history.

THE CREATION

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth,”5 are the first words in the Bible. God is a Spirit and is infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in His wisdom, power and holiness. He existed when the physical world was just an idea. There was a beginning in time when He  created all physical matter and all living creatures. Then God created Adam in His image, and together with Eve they were to rule over the birds of the sky, the beasts of the field, and the fish of the sea.6 They had dominion over the rest of creation and were to be fruitful in order to multiply and fill the earth. They were physically alive, which means their souls were in union with their bodies. They were spiritually alive; therefore their souls were in union with God. Because they were created in the image of God, they could think, feel, and make choices, unlike all the other creatures that are physically alive, which function by divine instinct.

Adam and Eve were safe, secure, and significant. They had a sense of belonging to God and to each other. They were naked and unashamed because they had nothing to hide and therefore no need to cover up. Adam and Eve were welcomed to eat from the Tree of Life and live forever by remaining in union with God.

Prior to the creation of humanity, a magnificent angel named Lucifer  rebelled against the Creator God and fell from heaven, taking a third of the angels with him. Lucifer means light bearer, but he no longer reflected the glory of God. He became Satan, or the devil, and ruled over his brood of fallen angels, known in the Bible as demons. Jealous for the significant position Adam and Eve were given, Satan tempted Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. She in turn persuaded Adam to do so, and together they sinned by rebelling against God.

THE FALL

The consequences were immediate. Adam and Eve died spiritually. Sin had separated them from God. Their souls were no longer in union with their Heavenly Father. They remained physically alive, but physical death would be a consequence of their sin as well.

Adam and Eve were left to make a name for themselves and to find their purpose and meaning in life independent of their Heavenly Father. They had to rely on their own strength and resources because the life of God was no longer within them. They were like cars without gas and struggled to find purpose and meaning in life in their natural state, which is still true to this day for those who don’t have a relationship with God.

Every car has a battery that provides a spark of life, so the natural person tries to find their purpose in the beauty of the car, or the comfort of the seats, or the sound of the stereo, or the lights, or the noise of the horn, but that is not what the car was created for. The purpose of automobiles is to supply transportation. Without gas they may look, sound, smell, and feel good, but they cannot fulfill their purpose for which they were created, and neither can we unless we have the life of Christ within us.

As a consequence of the fall, every natural descendant of Adam and Eve is born physically alive, but spiritually dead.7 In addition, the whole world was affected by their rebellion, and all creation is groaning and looking forward to a day of redemption.8 That day is coming because God immediately cursed the devil and promised that a descendent of Eve would bring forth a Savior that would crush the head of Satan.9

God’s plan was to first show all humanity their need for a Savior. He revealed our need by instituting a sacrificial system to show us that somebody had to pay the penalty for our sins, and through Moses God gave us a moral law to govern our behavior. However, no animal sacrifice could give us spiritual life, and nobody could live according to the law. So He sent prophets encouraging His people to live righteously according to the laws of God. These prophets also revealed God’s word to us and recorded the history of God’s redemptive plan. There are 39 books in the Old Testament that record the history of creation and the fall of Adam and Eve. They reveal humanity’s futile attempts to find purpose and meaning in life and live independently of God.

God called Abraham out of the Land of Ur, which is the land of present day Iraq, and into the promised land of Israel. With Abraham, God made an unconditional covenant, promising that through him and his descendants all the nations of the earth would be blessed. The Messiah would come from one of His descendants. Through the prophet Moses, God made a conditional covenant of law, promising to bless those who kept it, but none could. For centuries God’s chosen people tried unsuccessfully to live under the law, which proved to be a taskmaster that was intended by God to lead us to Christ,10 the promised Messiah.

THE GOSPEL

When it looked like there was no hope for humanity, and when the time was just right, God sent Jesus His Son. Jesus was supernaturally born of the Virgin Mary and, like Adam, was born both physically and spiritually alive. Jesus is the pre-existent Word of God who became flesh and dwelt amongst us. Jesus is co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit, and together they make up the One true God. While on this earth Jesus remained fully God, but He was also fully human. No person can become God, but God can and did manifest Himself in human form. Jesus came for three primary reasons.

First, He came to give us an example to follow in His steps. Jesus showed us how a spiritually alive person could live a righteous life. He did so by demonstrating a life totally dependent upon His Heavenly Father.11 All temptation is an attempt to get us to live our lives independently of God. Jesus was tempted in all ways, but unlike Adam, He never sinned. His sinless perfection was what made Jesus the only possible sacrifice for our sins. No other animal or human sacrifice could accomplish that.

Sin had separated all humanity from God, and the wages of sin is death.12 So Jesus went to the cross to die for our sins in order that we may be forgiven. According to the Old Testament Law, there is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood.13  In dying and shedding His blood, Jesus removed the enmity that existed between God and all humanity. “He [God the Father] made Him [Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God.”14 However, knowing that our sins are forgiven is not enough.

Second, Jesus came not only to die on the cross for  our sins, but also to be resurrected in order that we may  have new eternal, i.e. spiritual, life in Christ. That means  our souls are again in union with God. What Adam and `Eve lost in the fall was life, and what Jesus came to give  us was life.15 “Jesus is the bread of life.”16 He is “the way, the truth and the life.”17 He is the only path back to God. “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.18 “Jesus is the truth and if you know the truth, the truth will set you free.”19 Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live [spiritually] even if he dies [physically], and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die [spiritually]. 20
